SWEET & SOUR TOFU


The final addition in our collaboration with Food at Hand is this proper beauty of a dish Sweet and Sour Tofu - Speedy & completely vegan! Using SAUCD. ultra flavoursome Scotch Bonnet Ketchup which really adds the extra zing for your tastebuds!


SERVINGS COOK TIME Approx 4 Cook: 20 mins

INGREDIENTS

  • Block of tofu cut into cubes

  • Half tin of pineapple

  • 1 onion

  • 2 peppers diced

  • 2tbsp cornflour

  • 4 spring onions chopped

  • A small bunch coriander

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 20g ginger crushed

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 3 tbsp SAUCD Scotch Bonnet ketchup

  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar

  • 2tbsp soft brown sugar

DIRECTIONS

  1. Firstly combine your pineapple juice from the tin, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, SAUCD Scotch Bonnet ketchup, half cornflour, white wine vinegar & brown sugar in a bowl and mix up.

  2. Heat some oil in a large pan or wok, add in your onions & peppers for around 4 minutes until softened

  3. Whilst doing this add your tofu into a bowl and coat with the other half of cornflour, then add to the pan, season and cook for 4 more minutes

  4. Add in your sweet & sour sauce, along with coriander, allow to really soak in and turn to the thick classic sauce.

  5. Serve with toasted sesame seeds, spring onions & sticky rice. Enjoy!
